Ever been so busy that you feel lost?
When we’re focused on a goal for too long or have been on a pattern for years we get to a point where our soul stops us and asks “What am I doing?” A few years ago, I’ve caught myself in this pattern of feeling lost in life and wondering what this all means. And it started from my passion.
Writing and art is my life.
It’s been there for me through ups and downs. This is my passion, the only thing that I know how to do, and will continue to do until my soul leaves this planet. I get so passionate about the work that I want to share it with everyone. My goal is to reach that one person who feels alone and lost. Who feels like they can’t control the things around them and to let them know they’re not alone. That they can change the course of their life, right here and now.
This is why I’m always hustling to get my work out there. On top of taking care of the people I read tarot for, I’m constantly looking for more clients, write my weekly blog, submitting articles to other places, marketing, administration, bookkeeping, etc.
Then one day, my vision became blurred.
I was focused on this pattern of getting more that I couldn’t stop and suddenly I forgot why I started. It started to feel like an obligation and that’s when I realized I was stuck in a pattern of getting more. I got lost and my personal life was starting to suffer. When we set patterns that we follow blindly, that’s when the soul puts the breaks and lets us know that we’re lost.
We forget how we got here.
Sometimes the patterns that we follow aren’t goal-oriented. We wake up and eat the same breakfast, see the same people, do the same things, and wonder why life is just floating by. We see the people around us excelling and wonder why we’re stuck. And when the soul feels stuck, that’s when it knocks on the door and tells us “Dude…what are we doing?”
As human beings, we’re always looking for more. It’s inevitable. We’re social creatures and we want to keep adding to our lives. More experiences, more lessons, and more people to interact with. When we become stuck in a pattern, we’re not growing. We’re in a state of comfortability which feels amazing for the ego but for the intuition, it’s as appealing as watching paint dry.
We’re meant to be moving, but we’re meant to be moving with purpose.
If you find yourself doing the same thing over and over, it’s time to change it up. We forget that our patterns don’t control us – we control our patterns. We can choose to look at things differently, approach something in a different mindset, or take a new route.
The moment you decided to change your pattern, the ego will bug out because it’s so used to the pattern that you created. When I started to feel that my art was an obligation and not a passion that’s when I knew I had to stop. I gave myself a break and my ego was screaming in protest. But it was within that break that I remember why I started and why I wanted to keep writing. I came back to my passion with a new mindset and a new approach.
Life isn’t a race it’s a journey.
So make sure that the journey stays exciting. Take a new route to work, eat something different for dinner, or start a new workout that scares you. Ask that person out on a date. Go plan that trip you wanted to take. Get out of the pattern and make sure that you are living and not existing.
